Welcome to Slatepencil.

These Terms govern your access to and use of the Slatepencil app, website, and related services. By using Slatepencil, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use Slatepencil.

1. About Slatepencil

Slatepencil is an invite-only learning app designed to help students learn their syllabus through engaging, quest-based experiences. It may include onboarding, learning flows, activities, progress and streak tracking, profiles, subscriptions, and optional personalization.

2. Invite-only access

Users may need a valid invite code. We may approve, reject, revoke, or limit access during testing, early access, or limited rollouts. An invite code does not guarantee permanent access.

3. Eligibility

Slatepencil is intended for students, parents, guardians, and educational users. A parent, guardian, school, or authorized adult should review and consent where the student cannot independently consent under applicable law.

4. Account registration

You agree to provide accurate account, student, school, board, city, and guardian information where requested and to keep login details and devices secure.

5. Subscriptions and payments

Paid access may be handled through Google Play Billing. Pricing, renewals, cancellation, refunds, and processing follow the terms shown at checkout and applicable Google Play policies. Account deletion does not automatically cancel a subscription.

6. Refunds

Google Play purchases are generally refunded according to Google Play policies. Slatepencil may be unable to issue refunds directly for purchases processed by Google Play.

7. Educational use and limitations

Slatepencil supports learning, revision, motivation, and consistency. It does not guarantee marks, exam results, complete syllabus coverage, error-free content, or replace teachers, schools, textbooks, tutors, or parental guidance.

8. User responsibilities

• Do not use Slatepencil for unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purposes.
• Do not bypass invite, subscription, or security systems.
• Do not reverse engineer, scrape, misuse, or disrupt the service.
• Do not upload harmful content or use another account without permission.

9. User content and learning data

You retain ownership of content you provide and permit Slatepencil to use it as necessary to operate, improve, secure, and personalize the service.

10. Privacy

Use of Slatepencil is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

11. App availability

We may update, pause, restrict, or discontinue features. Continuous, uninterrupted, or error-free availability is not guaranteed.

12. Third-party services

Slatepencil may use third-party authentication, hosting, analytics, diagnostics, payment, and security services, including Google and Firebase, which may have their own terms and policies.

13. Intellectual property

The Slatepencil name, logo, design, mascot, software, content, and visual style are owned by Slatepencil or its licensors and may not be copied, modified, distributed, sold, or reused without permission.

14. Termination

You may stop using Slatepencil at any time. We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access for violations, expired access, failed payment, revoked invites, fraud, misuse, or security concerns.

15. Disclaimer

Slatepencil is provided on an “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law, without guarantees that every feature or item of educational content will always be accurate or available.

16. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Slatepencil is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from use or inability to use the service.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms and revise the “Last updated” date. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
